Baby led weaning is not for the faint hearted when it comes to mess. If you are a clean freak, you need to quickly get used to the idea that your highchair, floor and baby are going to need to be cleaned three times a day, until they get more adept at feeding themselves at least. Although for us, the baby led weaning mess continued well into the terrible twos! The best baby led weaning bibs will help drastically reduce the mess, but there are so many different sorts available on the market now, it can be a minefield to decide which one is best for your baby.

Luckily, this post will share with you all the very best baby led weaning bibs out there, including some from leading brands such as BabyBjorn, Bibetta and Tommee Tippee. All of these bibs have been tried and tested by us over the years, weaning two babies and I believe they’re the very best you can get.

The Best Baby Led Weaning Bibs

These bibs have been tried and tested by both Dexter and Felix and are our top 5 favourite baby led weaning bibs. They are:

Let’s take a look at each in turn:

BIBaDO Coverall Weaning Bib

The BIBaDo was the first bib we ever tried when Dex was around 8 months old. It was a total game changer in terms of reducing the mess and saving the gorgeous clothes which were getting stained day after day.

This bib covers your baby’s arms and body and attaches to the highchair meaning food no longer falls in their lap or into the highchair and can be chucked in the bin quickly and easily. It washes well too and is both waterproof and stain resistant.

Baby Bjorn Long Sleeved Bib

Like the BIBaDo, the Baby Bjorn long sleeved bib is an excellent baby led weaning bib as it covers the arms and is also waterproof and stain resistant. It is slightly cheaper than the BIBaDO, however it is recommended that it can only be used from 8 months+

We have loved using this bib with both Felix and Dexter, both for weaning and for messy play such as painting. It washes really well and feels a bit more durable than the BIBaDo, although it doesn’t cover the highchair as well meaning mess escapes into the nooks and crannies of our Joe Mimzy Snacker easily.

Tidy Tot

The Tidy Tot is a bit pricer than the other bibs on this list, but considering it comes with its own wipeable tray, it’s understandable why. This amazing bib and tray kit will not only keep your baby totally clean, but your highchair too. Fantastic for Mums who have a highchair which can’t just be chucked in the dishwasher, like the Ikea Antilop.

Bibetta Neoprene Ultrabib with Sleeves

The 5 Best Baby Led Weaning Bibs (5)

I love this baby led weaning bib because not only foes it cover the whole body and arms, but it also features a catch all bit which makes it easier to take any food dropped in the bib to the bin once meal time is over. Before I discovered this bib, I used a standard coverall bib AND a catch all bib too, but the Bibetta Neoprene Ultrabib stops you needing to invest in two types of bibs. It’s also machine washable and wipes clean easily thanks to its neoprene material. The 5 Best Baby Led Weaning Bibs (6)

Tommee Tippee Comfi Neck Bib

If you’re looking for a cheap as chips baby led weaning bib that will be soft and gentle on your baby’s neck, then look no further than the Tommee Tippee comfi neck bib which is fabulous for catching food which is inadvertently dropped as well as being fab to take out with you when weaning on the go.

This bib is also easily cleaned in the sick with a bit of water and wipe and grows with your baby as they get bigger. At £4.45 on Amazon, it’s a steal!

Hopefully, this post has helped you pick out the one or two of the best baby led weaning bibs for you.

If I were to pick my favourite? It would probably be the BIBaDO, as it was the first bib company we ever worked with, and I have such fond memories of using it with Dexter when he was a baby. The bright green was really eye catching and he always knew as soon as it came out, that it was time for a big feed!
