Holidaymakers who are looking for an island retreat can forget about booking a room on this rocky outcrop – they can have the entire place to themselves.
Located off Scotland’s west coast, rugged Sanda Island is available for £2,000 a night for those who have always wanted to be the lady or laird of the manor.
An ideal destination for anyone looking for privacy, the privately-owned island boasts four cottages, a natural beach where they can spot seals, cliffs and stunning sea views in every direction.

When guests arrive at Sanda Island by helicopter or 40-minute boat ride, they are treated to a traditional welcome from a Scottish piper and then shown to their cottage.
Each bungalow comes with guaranteed sea views, underfloor heating and fireplaces to keep warm on chilly nights, with each cottage sleeping two people.

Guests have full use of a boat, a bird observatory and the island’s restaurant, where they can enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner throughout their stay.
They can also take in 360-degree views from a lighthouse perched atop one of the highest points of the island.
The rental includes an excursion to Northern Ireland, a fishing trip with a local fisherman and supervised whisky tasting, and the typical stay lasts from a weekend to a full week, although the owner will accommodate requests for longer stays.
